2023 Ford Maverick Tremor

Ford Increasing Production of Popular Models

To meet the high demand for vehicles such as the Mustang Mach-E, F-150 Lightning, Bronco Sport, and Maverick, Ford is ramping up production at manufacturing plants throughout North America. Furthermore, the company plans to introduce all-new versions of four significant vehicles in 2023, including the Super Duty®, Ranger®, Mustang®, and Escape®.

Kumar Galhotra, the President of Ford Blue, stated, “We have had a strong start to 2023 sales and we are moving to fast-track quality production. Increasing production benefits both our customers and our business.”

Ford is currently America’s top-selling overall brand, as well as the leading truck manufacturer and SUV brand. Moreover, the company has seen a 68 percent rise in electric vehicle sales.

In February, Ford’s U.S. market share grew by 1.4 percentage points to 13.3 percent, driven by a 21.9 percent sales increase.

Ford expects to increase Mustang Mach-E production to 210,000 units by the end of the year, and the F-150 Lightning is expected to get to 150,000 units. Models like the Bronco Sport and Maverick are expected to sell 80,000 more units this year than in 2022 when the Maverick was already the number one small truck in America.

Commercial models like the Transit and E-Transit are getting production increases as well. This comes after the United States Postal Service recently placed an order for thousands of the all-electric E-Transit cargo van for its fleet as part of its goal to reduce costs and emissions.
